Job summary

Ekurhuleni Water Care Company is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead electrical, mechanical and process equipment maintenance for reliable plant operations within the water services sector.

You will plan, supervise and optimize maintenance activities, ensure asset registration and legislative compliance, and coordinate with financial and project teams to deliver cost-effective service delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications: National Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical/Electromechanical/Industrial Engineering or Degree/BTech in Electrical/Mechanical/Electromechanical/Industrial Engineering.
• Experience: 8–10 years in maintenance of wastewater/water services engineering; 5 years managerial/supervisory experience.
• MFMA certificate and contracts/project management experience considered advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Systems Maintenance: ensure compliant, timely maintenance; implement planned maintenance using On Key, MS Project and Excel; ensure asset registration and interfacing with financial systems.
• Planning of System Upgrades: research technology, liaise with suppliers, manage maintenance team workflow, audit system performance, capture activity history in On Key.
• Managing Staff/Resources: direct performance, identify skills gaps, develop career plans, monitor training impact, enforce HR policies, manage attendance and productivity.
• Financial Planning and Reporting: define budgeting objectives, align capacity, forecast expenditures, prepare status reports, manage budget within allocations.
