Job summary

Bay Recruit is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager for a large warehouse or cold storage operation. The role is hands-on and focused on keeping machinery, equipment and the facility running efficiently in a demanding environment.

You will lead day-to-day maintenance, plan preventative and corrective work, manage stock and spares, and handle administration. The role requires welding, electrical and basic mechanical skills and strong organisation.

Qualifications

• Experience in large warehouse or cold storage maintenance.
• Hands-on and technically capable in multiple trades.
• Strong in preventative maintenance planning.
• Experience with stock control and inventory management.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day maintenance of the facility.
• Oversee general maintenance and repairs including welding and fabrication.
• Perform basic mechanical and electrical maintenance and troubleshoot faults.
• Plan and coordinate preventative and corrective maintenance.
• Maintain maintenance schedules and identify requirements before issues arise.
• Manage maintenance-related stock and ensure critical parts are available.
• Keep accurate maintenance records and organise maintenance activities and priorities.

This is ideal for someone who is not afraid to get their hands dirty, troubleshoot problems and keep machinery, equipment and the facility running efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

MAINTENANCE & REPAIRS

• Manage day‑to‑day maintenance of the facility
• Carry out and oversee general maintenance and repairs
• Welding and fabrication
• Basic mechanical maintenance
• Electrical maintenance
• Troubleshooting and fault‑finding
• General building and facility repairs
• Ensure machinery and equipment are properly maintained

MAINTENANCE PLANNING

• Plan and coordinate preventative and corrective maintenance
• Maintain maintenance schedules
• Identify maintenance requirements before they become major problems
• Ensure machinery and equipment remain operational
• Coordinate repairs and maintenance activities

STOCK & INVENTORY CONTROL

• Manage maintenance‑related stock and spares
• Monitor inventory levels
• Ensure critical maintenance items are available when required
• Maintain accurate stock records

ADMINISTRATION

• Maintain accurate maintenance records
• Keep documentation up to date
• Organise maintenance activities and priorities
