Job summary

Red Ember Recruitment is seeking a Maintenance Handyman for a client in Franschhoek. The ideal candidate will be an efficient, solution-driven team player with a proven track record in maintenance across electrical, plumbing, and general trades.

The role involves routine maintenance, repairs, and servicing of tools and equipment, quick response to requests, troubleshooting and coordinating with external service providers as needed. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ general electrical, plumbing, and/or air conditioning maintenance experience.
• Hotel or property maintenance experience would be advantageous.
• Matric Certificate; technical qualification in Facilities/Maintenance beneficial.
• Valid Driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, repairs and annual servicing of tools and equipment to keep them in good working order.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from various departments to minimise disruption.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues and arrange for repairs or external service when needed.
• Carry out plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and general building repairs as required.
• Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, spare parts and records of maintenance activities.

The successful candidate must be an experienced Maintenance Handyman that needs to ensure that the facilities and equipment in and around all our clients' properties are well maintained and in good working order.Main Responsibilities: Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and annual servicing of tools, and equipment, ensuring they are in optimal working condition.Respond promptly to maintenance requests from various departments, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues, making necessary repairs or arranging for external service providers when required.Perform general handyman tasks, including but not limited to plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, painting, and general building repairs.Respond to building maintenance requests in a timely manner.Maintain an accurate inventory of tools, equipment, spare parts, and materials.Keep detailed records of all maintenance activities, including repairs.RequirementsMinimum of 2 years’ general electrical, plumbing, and/or air conditioning and heat pump repairs and maintenance.Hotel or property maintenance experience would be advantageous.Knowledge of safe working procedures of electrical tools and equipment.Basic hand tools and electrical knowledge.Preference will be given to candidates from Franschhoek and neighbouring areas.Inherent Requirements: Matric Certificate.Technical qualification in Facilities/Maintenance/Engineering or related field beneficial.Valid Driver’s license.
