Job summary

Sovereign is a national supplier of quality chicken products, seeking a thorough Maintenance Assistant for its Breeder farms operations in the Agricultural division. The role reports to the artisan and Maintenance Manager and carries TASK Grade T06.

A Grade 12 certificate with 2 years’ hands-on maintenance experience is required; electrician qualifications are advantageous. The successful candidate will ensure preventive maintenance, lead with initiative, adhere to quality standards, and follow

Job description

Sovereign, a national supplier of quality chicken products to various markets with operations in five provinces, is seeking a thorough and committed individual for the position of Maintenance Assistant for its Breeder farms operations in the Agricultural division. The Maintenance Assistance is responsible to Ensure all ongoing maintenance is done according to standard Operating Procedure. This position reports directly to the relevant artisan and indirectly to the Maintenance Manager and holds the TASK Grade T06. The successful incumbent of this position should have a Grade 12 certificate with 2 years’ hands‑on maintenance experience. Electrician qualifications will be highly advantageous.

• Ensuring cost effective maintenance through proper preventive maintenance program.
• Lead from your position and motivate others.
• Ensure strict adherence to the Company approved Quality Program.
• Report accurately and timeously on any problems that may occur during the course of carrying out normal duties to a person in authority for further action.
• Carry out any other reasonable instruction that Management might issue.
