Job summary

Wild Dreams Hospitality in Hout Bay is seeking a maintenance technician to keep a luxury property running smoothly, covering general repairs, preventative upkeep, pools, gardens, and guest areas.

You will work with basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and use hand and power tools safely. This live-out role requires reliability, initiative, and the ability to work independently or in a small team.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance/handyman roles, preferably in hospitality.
• Basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry and painting skills.
• Experience with hand and power tools.
• Physically fit to work outdoors and at heights.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or in a small team.
• Good communication skills and a proactive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine and preventative maintenance across the property.
• Attend to minor plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs.
• Assist with pool, garden, and general grounds upkeep.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guest and staff areas.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance stock levels.
• Report larger maintenance or safety issues to management.
• Support with painting and general repairs and upkeep projects.

This is a hands-on, practical role suited to someone who takes pride in keeping a luxury property running smoothly, from general repairs to preventative upkeep across guest and back-of-house areas.

Core Criteria:

• Previous experience in a maintenance, handyman, or general repairs role, ideally within hospitality
• Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting tasks
• Comfortable using hand and power tools safely and correctly
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors and at height where required
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a small team
• Good communication skills and a proactive, solutions-focused attitude

Candidate Responsibilities:
