• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

• Experience with industrial automation and machine safety standards a plus.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Machine Design Mechanical Engineer to join their innovative team, serving the Soweto area. This role is focused on the conceptualization, design, and development of specialized machinery and mechanical systems for various industrial applications. You will be responsible for creating robust, efficient, and reliable machine designs that meet complex operational requirements. This hybrid position allows for flexible remote work on design and analysis tasks, combined with essential on‑site collaboration for prototyping, testing, and implementation support. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver cutting‑edge mechanical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and engineer custom machinery and mechanical systems from concept through to detailed design.
• Develop detailed 3D CAD models , assembly drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOMs) for machine components and assemblies.
• Perform stress, thermal, and dynamic analysis using FEA and other simulation tools to validate designs.
• Select appropriate components, materials, and manufacturing processes for optimal machine performance and longevity.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers, software developers, and technicians to integrate control systems and ensure seamless functionality.
• Oversee prototype development, machine testing, and provide support during installation and commissioning phases.
