Job summary

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a polished and professional Assistant Lodge Manager to join a luxury private game reserve in the Eastern Cape. This role supports the Lodge Manager in delivering five-star hospitality and overseeing daily lodge operations.

Key responsibilities include supervising Front Office, Housekeeping, and F&B, ensuring guest satisfaction, and maintaining brand standards across departments. Live-in position based in the Eastern Cape.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate in hotel management or equivalent.
• 2–4 years in supervisory/management in a 5-star lodge or luxury hospitality.
• Strong guest relations and hosting skills; Butler experience advantageous.
• Knowledge of F&B, housekeeping, and Front Office operations.
• Computer literacy including intermediate Excel.

Responsibilities

• Support the Lodge Manager with the daily operation of the lodge
• Oversee Front Office, Housekeeping, and Food & Beverage operations
• Conduct regular housekeeping checks to ensure five-star standards
• Supervise restaurant operations before and during meal services
• Ensure service staff deliver consistent, world-class guest experiences
• Manage guest check-ins, check-outs, and special requests throughout their stay
• Arrange additional services and supplies as requested by guests
• Communicate operational issues, variances, and improvement ideas to senior management
• Assist with stock counts, reporting, and administrative duties
• Uphold lodge SOPs and brand standards across all departments
