Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a skilled Unit Accountant for a prestigious 5-star seaside hotel in Hermanus, Western Cape. The role focuses on maintaining accurate financial controls and supporting the hotel’s financial performance through day-to-day property accounting.

You will manage ledgers, assist with month-end and year-end reporting, and prepare financial reports while ensuring compliance with company procedures and deadlines.

Formación

• Experience in luxury hospitality or hotel accounting is preferred.
• Accounting/finance qualification required.
• Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
• Attention to detail and high accuracy.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Excel.
• Ability to work independently and with operations teams.
• Excellent communication and time-management skills.

Responsabilidades

• Manage day-to-day accounting for the property.
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
• Process and reconcile daily financial transactions.
• Assist with month-end and year-end financial reporting.
• Prepare and analyse financial reports, reconciliations and schedules.
• Monitor income, expenses, debtors, creditors and cash flow.
• Conduct balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and planning.
• Identify variances in departmental spend and address issues.
• Ensure invoices/payments are processed accurately and on time.
• Maintain strong financial controls and procedures.
• Assist with audits and provide documentation as required.
• Work with operations to ensure accurate reporting.
• Provide management with financial insights for decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and procedures.
