Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a seasoned Financial Accountant for a luxury property group based in Bryanston. You will lead the finance team, drive robust controls, and provide strategic financial oversight across multiple properties.

You will partner with Finance, Operations, and General Managers on budgets, monthly accounts, and year-end audits, delivering timely packs and management reports. A strong leadership style and hospitality experience are essential.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years’ experience as Financial Accountant or Manager in hospitality
• Matric required; accounting/finance qualification is a bonus
• Valid RSA ID; strong leadership & commercial awareness

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain financial controls across the unit’s business
• Collaborate with Finance Managers, Operations Managers & General Managers on budgets and schedules
• Analyze monthly financial accounts and report anomalies to Group CEO
• Oversee year-end audits for properties
• Prepare and present monthly financial packs and weekly reports to Finance Manager
• Compile variance reports on budget overspends and policy changes
• Ensure compliance with financial manuals; draft new policies for CEO approval
• Supervise accounting staff and improve skill levels
• Oversee payroll, medical aid, provident fund, statutory compliance, and related audits

Financial Accountant

Location: Bryanston

Salary: R30,000 per month + benefits (CTC, including medical aid)

Kendrick Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a luxury property group for an experienced and commercially astute Financial Accountant. This role is ideal for a self-driven professional with strong leadership skills, capable of managing a finance team while requiring minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and maintenance of financial controls across all aspects of the unit’s business
• Collaborate with Finance Managers, Operations Managers, and General Managers on budgets, programmes, schedules, and objectives to ensure efficient and profitable operations
• Analyse and interpret monthly financial accounts for each property, reporting anomalies to the Group CEO
• Oversee year-end audits of the properties
• Prepare and present monthly financial packs and weekly financial reports to the Finance Manager
• Compile variance reports on all budget overspends and highlight discrepancies, changes in policy, or strategy
• Ensure compliance with financial manuals, checklists, and procedures; draft new policies as required for CEO approval
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, improving skill levels and promoting job satisfaction
• Oversee personnel functions, including maintenance of employee files, contracts, leave schedules, payroll, medical aid, provident fund, statutory compliance, and audits of documentation

System Requirements

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, with good to advanced Excel skills
• Experience with SAGE ONE
• Experience with VIP Payroll / Payspace
• Understanding of CIMSO system is a plus

Minimum Experience & Requirements
