Job summary

Kendrick Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a luxury property group for an experienced and commercially astute Financial Accountant. The role involves managing a finance team with minimal supervision and overseeing monthly financial packs, audits, and payroll-related processes.

The position requires 2–4 years’ experience in hospitality finance, matric, and a positive leadership mindset. The package includes a monthly salary of R30,000 plus benefits (CTC, including medical aid).

Qualifications

• 2–4 years’ experience as a Financial Accountant or Manager within the hospitality industry.
• Matric required; further accounting/finance qualification is a bonus.
• Valid RSA ID.
• Strong leadership qualities and commercial awareness.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with good to advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and maintenance of financial controls across all aspects of the unit’s business
• Collaborate with Finance Managers, Operations Managers, and General Managers on budgets, programmes, schedules, and objectives to ensure efficient and profitable operations
• Analyse and interpret monthly financial accounts for each property, reporting anomalies to the Group CEO
• Oversee year-end audits of the properties
• Prepare and present monthly financial packs and weekly financial reports to the Finance Manager
• Compile variance reports on all budget overspends and highlight discrepancies, changes in policy, or strategy
• Ensure compliance with financial manuals, checklists, and procedures; draft new policies as required for CEO approval
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, improving skill levels and promoting job satisfaction
• Oversee personnel functions, including maintenance of employee files, contracts, leave schedules, payroll, medical aid, provident fund, statutory compliance, and audits of documentation
