Job summary

HotelJobs is seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager for a luxury wine estate in Stellenbosch. You will oversee daily restaurant, in-room dining and pool terrace operations, delivering exceptional service to distinguished guests and driving guest satisfaction and profitability.

Responsibilities include working with the Sommelier on wine lists, managing staff rosters, budgets and stock, and ensuring sanitation and safety standards are met.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 tertiary qualification in Food Services Management or Hospitality preferred.
• At least 2-3 years' Restaurant Manager experience within a 5-star or luxury establishment.
• Wine certification or equivalent relevant experience.
• Previous fine dining experience aligned with Gourmet Guide and Eat Out standards preferred.
• Excellent food and wine knowledge.
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Confidence engaging with distinguished clientele.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent planning and organisational skills.
• Ability to remain effective under pressure and manage demanding service periods.
• A reliable, flexible, adaptable and self-disciplined approach.
• High standards of ethical conduct.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily restaurant, in-room dining and pool terrace operations.
• Deliver exceptional service and maximise guest satisfaction.
• Respond promptly and professionally to guest needs, feedback and complaints.
• Work with the Sommelier to compile wine and beverage lists and recommend wines to guests.
• Ensure wine lists in guest rooms remain current.
• Recruit and manage staff, including rosters and overtime control.
• Oversee stock purchasing, stock movement and inventory budgets.
• Manage resources and expenditure within approved budgets.Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations.

Education
