Job summary

Redember-Recruitment seeks a Gate Guest Assistant for a luxury wine estate in Franschhoek. You will be the first point of contact for guests, ensuring a warm, professional arrival experience and coordinating with Reservations, F&B, housekeeping, and security.

You will manage check-ins, guest inquiries, and special requests while maintaining Protel records, handling payments, and supporting guest satisfaction across shifts including weekends and nights.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in a reception or guest relations role within hospitality.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work calmly and professionally in a busy environment.
• Strong teamwork and guest service orientation.
• Proficiency with property management systems (Protel) and front desk operations.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate smooth check-in at the Main Gate and welcome guests.
• Give clear directions to estate facilities and destinations.
• Manage front desk duties, answer calls, and assist guest inquiries.
• Address guest concerns and escalate to Manager on Duty when needed.
• Coordinate reservations with the reservations team and special requests.
• Interface with F&B and Housekeeping on dietary requirements and services.
• Handle emergencies and ensure guest safety and security.
• Maintain guest records and ensure accurate data entry in Protel.
• Process payments and perform end-of-shift cash-ups.
• Monitor daily room status and liaise with housekeeping for readiness.
• Provide accurate billing information and resolve discrepancies at checkout.
• Coordinate guest transport, luggage assistance, and final feedback.
