Job summary

Empire Recruitment Pty Ltd is seeking a hands-on Logistics & Warehouse Manager to lead day-to-day warehouse operations, inventory control and logistics execution in a high-volume environment. You’ll drive accuracy, efficiency and compliance while coaching frontline teams on safety and performance.

Focus areas include stock availability, ERP/WMS discipline, route planning, carrier management and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs and improve service levels across the supply chain.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' progressive experience in warehousing or logistics operations.
• Strong leadership and coaching skills.
• Proven inventory accuracy and stock control.
• Experience in manufacturing or high-volume distribution.
• Solid ERP/WMS experience and Excel proficiency.
• Knowledge of OH&S and warehouse compliance.
• Valid driver's license if required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee day-to-day warehouse and logistics operations, including receiving, storage, picking, staging, loading and dispatch.
• Review and challenge logistics plans to align routes, loads, vehicles, capacity and priorities.
• Monitor execution against plans and address delays, capacity constraints and service risks.
• Take ownership of inventory accuracy, including cycle counts, stock takes, reconciliations and variance investigations.
• Ensure controls for damaged, obsolete, quarantined and returned stock.
• Monitor warehouse capacity, stock ageing, space utilisation and slow-moving inventory.
• Oversee transport execution, including transporter performance, deliveries, turnaround times and cost.
• Investigate late, short, damaged or failed deliveries and drive corrective action.
• Lead warehouse supervisors and teams through standards, coaching and performance management.
• Ensure compliance with HSE, safe material handling, security and procedures.
• Drive ERP/WMS transactions and system discipline.
• Analyze operational performance, identify bottlenecks and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
• Partner with Procurement, Production, Sales, Finance, Quality and Maintenance to stay aligned.
• Drive improvements in safety, service, inventory accuracy, productivity and cost control.
• Prepare operational reports on performance trends, risks, root causes and actions.

Are you an experienced Logistics & Warehouse Manager who knows how to keep stock moving, operations controlled and teams performing at their best?
An established organisation is looking for a hands-on and commercially minded Logistics & Warehouse Manager to take ownership of warehouse operations, inventory control and logistics execution within a fast-paced operational environment?
This is a key leadership role for someone who can look beyond the day-to-day and challenge plans, identify operational gaps, improve efficiency and hold teams and service providers accountable.

What you'll be doing

• Lead and oversee day-to-day warehouse and logistics operations, including receiving, storage, picking, staging, loading and dispatch.
• Review and challenge logistics plans to ensure routes, loads, vehicles, capacity and priorities are aligned with operational requirements.
• Monitor execution against plans and ensure delays, capacity constraints and service risks are addressed quickly.
• Take ownership of inventory accuracy, including cycle counts, stock takes, reconciliations and variance investigations.
• Ensure appropriate controls are in place for damaged, obsolete, quarantined and returned stock.
• Monitor warehouse capacity, stock ageing, space utilisation and slow-moving inventory.
• Oversee transport execution, including transporter performance, deliveries, turnaround times, proof of delivery, claims and transport costs.
• Investigate late, short, damaged or failed deliveries and drive corrective action.
• Lead warehouse supervisors and operational teams through clear standards, coaching, performance management and skills development.
• Ensure compliance with HSE, safe material handling, security, housekeeping and operational procedures.
• Drive accurate ERP/WMS transactions and strong system discipline.
• Analyse operational performance, identify bottlenecks and lead root-cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Partner with Procurement, Production, Sales, Finance, Quality and Maintenance to ensure operational priorities remain aligned.
• Drive improvements in safety, service, inventory accuracy, productivity, waste reduction and cost control.
• Prepare operational reports covering performance trends, risks, root causes and corrective actions.

What we're looking for

• Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate is essential.
• Relevant diploma or degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Warehouse Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years' progressive experience within warehousing, logistics, distribution or supply chain operations.
• At least 2 years' experience in a supervisory or management role.
• Proven experience managing inventory accuracy, stock takes, receiving, storage, picking, dispatch and transport execution.
• Strong experience managing frontline teams, productivity, performance and training.
• Experience within manufacturing, packaging, FMCG, industrial distribution or another high-volume environment will be advantageous.
• Strong ERP/WMS and stock-management system experience.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel; reporting or BI exposure will be advantageous.
• Proven experience in operational improvement, root-cause analysis, KPI reporting and cost control.
• Working knowledge of occupational health and safety and warehouse compliance requirements.
• Valid driver's licence where required.
