Job summary

The South African Breweries is seeking a Tier 1 Logistics Manager to execute the Tier 1 logistics strategy and ensure service levels to Sales are met. You will monitor deviations, realign plans, and drive KPI achievement across transport, inventory and warehouse operations.

Defining FG and Returnable Container plans, supporting production against the plan, and optimising warehouse capacity are key. A zero-harm safety culture, waste reduction, and load-plan attainment are required.

Qualifications

• 2 years of management experience in Logistics or Supply.
• Proven ability to lead and influence across functions.
• Strong focus on safety and process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Define and control FG and Returnable Container plan to meet service targets.
• Support production performance and reduce downtime caused by logistics.
• Manage FG warehouse capacity for efficient space utilisation.
• Maintain a safe working environment with zero Lost Time Injuries in warehouse operations.
• Oversee T1 warehouse KPIs to drive productivity.
• Minimise waste and stock write-offs; reduce variances.
• Define T1 transportation requirements and optimal fleet sizing to meet demand.
• Ensure 100% Load Plan Attainment for transport and inventory deployment.

Job description

The key purpose is to execute the Tier 1 Logistics strategy. To understand deviations and course correct or realign where necessary. To ensure T1 Logistics Key Performance Indicators are being achieved to support overall Service Levels to Sales. Control and manage Variable Logistics Costs. Implement and support the Distribution Plant Optimisation program.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• Define and control the Finished Goods and Returnable Container plan for production to ensure we enable service level performance achieved against target.
• Support production performance and execution against the production plan - Downtime Caused by Logistics reduced.
• Understand and manage FG warehouse capacities to ensure maximum efficient utilisation of space.
• Works to ensure a safe working environment with 0 Lost Time Injuries in Whse operations.
• Manage all T1 warehouse related KPI's to drive Warehouse productivity.
• Manages SCOH to a minimum waste measure.
• Reduce stock age write offs and stock count variances.
• Define T1 transportation requirements for movement of raw materials and finished goods.
• Correct fleet sizing to fulfill demand.
• Manages performance and execution against the T1 transportation and inventory deployment plan to achieve 100% Load Plan Attainment
• Implement and support DPO qualification in dry sites and VPO qualification in manufacturing sites. Serves as an SME in DPO.
• Ensures execution of T1 and FGCP against regional sales plans. Provides feedback to relevant stakeholders in the event of OOS.
