Job summary

Rectitude Recruit is seeking a Fleet Supervisor to lead delivery operations, plan daily routes, and ensure timely, safe cargo movement. You will monitor the fleet, coordinate drivers, and liaise with clients to resolve issues on site.

The role includes driver onboarding, toolbox talks, reporting to managers, supervising discipline, and guaranteeing smooth loading and offloading while maintaining premises and yard security.

Responsibilities

• Daily route planning and briefing of drivers on most economical routes to be taken.
• Communicate with all personnel to ensure smooth running of loading and offloading of trucks.
• Ensure timely delivery of our products.
• Liaise with drivers to address problems that may arise with deliveries on site.
• Physically checking any items returned before requesting credit notes.
• Do physical truck inspections to determine preventative maintenance, repairs and damages.
• Monitor driver abuse, wear and tear, tyre usage and take necessary preventative actions.
• Monitor the fleet’s diesel consumptions.
• Attend to breakdowns and accidents and implement alternative plans to ensure delivery.
• Chair weekly toolbox talks with team and motivate staff.
• Present weekly and monthly reports to Managers and directors.

• Chair weekly toolbox talks with team, give team advice and motivate team, address any concerns or problems that may arise.
• Collaborate and communicate information related to shipments with relevant internal teams and customers.

• On 24 hours standby for drivers and in-case of an accident
• Weekly Debriefing of Staff
• Enforce discipline and take disciplinary action against staff when needed.
• Keeping Premises neat and Clean by delegating, and ensure that yard is secured.
