Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Logistics Planner to optimize transportation routes, manage carrier relationships, and ensure timely deliveries from Upington, Northern Cape. You will work with warehouse and sales teams to coordinate activities and resolve transportation issues.

The role requires strong analytical abilities, detail orientation, and a drive to improve efficiency and reduce costs within the supply chain. A hybrid work arrangement is offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in logistics planning, transportation, or a related field.
• Familiarity with TMS and route optimization software.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and negotiation abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• A diploma or degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule transportation routes for efficient delivery.
• Coordinate with carriers and drivers to ensure on-time pickups and deliveries.
• Monitor shipments and address any deviations or issues that arise during transit.
• Maintain accurate records of transportation activities and costs.
• Analyze logistics data to identify areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
• Communicate effectively with internal departments and external partners regarding logistics.
