The Recruitment Pig is seeking a seasoned Logistics Planner / Fleet Manager to join their Germiston depot. You will oversee a fleet of over 100 heavy trucks, plan routes, monitor live movements, and ensure food and medicine cargo remains within temperature specs.

Ideal candidates have at least 5 years' truck fleet experience, fridge trailer know‑how, and strong communication with drivers. The role is full‑time at the main depot with competitive salary and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Matric Grade 12 is required or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of experience managing truck fleets.
• Experience with fridge trailers and temperature control units preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and dispatch a fleet of 100+ heavy trucks daily.
• Monitor live truck movements with tracking software.
• Maintain trailer temperatures to safeguard food and medicine.
• Plan optimal long‑distance and cross‑border routes to save fuel/time.
• Coordinate with the workshop to repair breakdowns quickly.
• Brief drivers before departure and after return with clear instructions.
• Verify driver logs, fuel slips, trip papers, and border documents.
• Manage driver times to minimize delays at delivery centres.

What You Will Do

• Plan and send out a fleet of more than 100 heavy trucks every day.
• Watch truck movements live using advanced tracking software.
• Check trailer temperatures all the time to keep food and medicine safe.
• Plan the best long-distance and cross-border routes to save fuel and time.
• Work with the workshop team to fix truck breakdowns quickly.
• Talk to drivers before they leave and when they return to give them instructions and check their trips.
• Check driver logbooks, fuel slips, trip papers, and border documents carefully.
• Manage driver times so trucks do not face long delays at delivery centres.

What You Need to Apply

• A valid Matric (Grade 12) Senior Certificate.
• At least 5 years of experience working with truck fleets.
• Real experience working with fridge trailers and temperature control units.
• Good knowledge of South African roads and SADC cross-border rules.
• The ability to solve problems calmly when trucks break down far away.
• A strong, clear way of speaking to lead and support drivers every day.
