Job summary

Responsibilities

• Accountable for HSE on the various Maintenance and GO sites to ensure Howden complies legally with internal procedures.
• Responsible for safety administration and doing job observations and recording safety requests/complaints/near misses and investigating all incidents.
• Accountable for rollout of all safety requirements to sites and providing feedback to ensure compliance with internal safety requirements.
• Conduct audits on subcontractors before allowing them onto site and suggest corrective actions.
• Assess risk on sites and write risk assessments and safe work procedures for work to be done.
• SOX compliance: adhere to Sarbanes-Oxley and AX controls

Howden South Africa Division is looking for an experienced EHS Officer (Middelburg) to ensure that the customer sites where Howden staff perform maintenance and installations, comply with SHE standards (internal, client standards & statutory compliance).

What Will You Do?

• Accountable for HSE on the various Maintenance and GO sites to ensure Howden complies legally with its internal procedures.
• Responsible for the safety administration and doing job observations and recording of safety requests/complaints/ near misses and investigating all incidents.
• Accountable for the rollout of all safety requirements to sites and giving feedback about rollout to ensure we comply with our internal safety requirements
• Conduct audits on subcontractors before allowing them onto site, as to determine the level of compliance and suggest corrective action and implantation of action to ensure we compile with our and customer requirements.
• Assessing risk on sites and writing of risk assessments and written safe work procedures to enable work to be done
• SOX Compliance: Adhere to Sarbanes Oxley and AX controls

Your Experience Should Be.

• National Diploma in Safety Management
• Grade 12, SAMTRAC
• SACPMP Registered as a safety officer.
• 5 years of experience as an EHS Officer
