Job summary

Gijima in Midrand, Gauteng, South Africa seeks an experienced Inventory Controller to manage logistics, inventory control, and warehouse operations within the local location.

You will plan material requirements, coordinate distribution to internal and external clients, and generate stock reports while maintaining accurate records and driving cost efficiency. Strong vendor relationships and proactive communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 required; NQF 4 in Logistics/Stock Control/Store Keeping/Warehouse Management advantageous.
• 2–5 years in logistics/stock control/store keeping/warehouse management.

Responsibilities

• Inventory Management: conduct stock counts, maintain records of stock, manage repair cycle and warranty returns to OEM.
• Material and Distribution Planning: plan material requirements (MRP), oversee stock distribution, route quotes for approval, track SAP requests.
• Cost and Efficiency Optimisation: reduce operational expenses.
• Reporting and Communication: generate stock reports and send ETAs, escalations and risk notifications.
• Relationship Management: build and maintain vendor and stakeholder relationships.

Job description

PURPOSE:

Responsible for the overall control and management of the logistics function of the company involving inventory control within the geographic location of South Africa

FORMAL EDUCATION:

• Grade 12
• Qualification (NQF 4) in Logistics/ Stock Control/ Store Keeping / Warehouse Management (advantageous)

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 2 – 5 years experience in logistics /stock control/ store keeping / warehouse management

TECHNICAL / LEGAL CERTIFICATION

• Drivers license with reliable transport (advantageous)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Inventory Management: Conduct regular stock takes. Maintain accurate records of backup and consignment stock. Manage the repair cycle of inventory. Ensure warranty parts are returned to OEM within the required timeframe.
• Material and Distribution Planning: Plan material requirements (MRP). Oversee the distribution and delivery of stock to internal and external clients. Route quotes for appropriate authority for approval. Track SAP open requests through to completion and closure.
• Cost and Efficiency Optimisation: Reduce operational expenses.
• Reporting and Communication: Generate general and comparative stock reports. Send accurate communication, including ETAs, escalations, and risk notifications.
• Relationship Management: Build and maintain effective relationships with vendors and all stakeholders.
