You will perform 3-point verification, escalate non-compliance, and produce end-of-shift reports, working in a 24/7 environment with strict safety and incident protocols.

Responsibilities

• 24/7/365 Constant Monitoring: Perform live, active tracking of haulage trucks along geofenced routes using the TMS platform.
• Mandatory 3-Point Verification: Cross-reference Fleet List, Tracking Unit, Load & Route before marking as Verified.
• Verification Failure Handling: Flag non-compliant trucks and escalate to OpsMan for holding departures.
• Driver Behaviour & Conduct Auditing: Monitor for speeding, phone use, seatbelt issues, and camera integrity.
• Level 1 Incident & Exception Handling: Log breakdowns within 15 minutes and follow emergency protocols.
• Comprehensive Shift Handover: Prepare end-of-shift report with load counts, breakdowns and non-conformance logs.
• Strict Rule Enforcements (7-Day Suspensions): Enforce suspensions for non-compliance after consultation.
• Mandatory Panic Button Protocol: Do not call drivers on panic alerts; escalate to OpsMan.

About the role

To operate as an active member of the company control room, utilising the Transport Management System (TMS) to maintain 100% load integrity, monitor tracking feed health, and enforce driver compliance protocols.

Responsibilities

• 24/7/365 Constant Monitoring: Perform live, active tracking of haulage trucks along designated geofenced routes from source collieries (e.g., Manungu) to Eskom power stations, sidings, or private clients using the TMS platform.
• Mandatory 3-Point Verification: Execute immediate manual checks for every autoallocated truck passing the mine weighbridge by cross-referencing:
  • Fleet List: Verify the truck details match the approved "Free to Load" master list.
  • Tracking Unit: Confirm the vehicle's GPS unit is online, live, and transmitting accurately.
  • Load & Route: Ensure correct destination and product assignment before marking the vehicle as "Verified".
• Verification Failure Handling: Immediately flag non-compliant trucks (e.g., integrated tracking offline or missing documentation) on the TMS and elevate directly to the Operations Manager (OpsMan) to hold the truck from departing.
• Driver Behaviour & Conduct Auditing: Monitor driver actions via fleet cameras and system telemetry logs for critical infractions, including speeding (exceeding the strict threshold), mobile phone usage while driving, seatbelt non-compliance, and obscured or dirty cameras.
• Level 1 Incident & Exception Handling: Act as the first point of contact to capture and log breakdowns on the High Risk platform within fifteen (15) minutes, and strictly execute emergency protocol matrices for panic buttons or critical accidents.
• Comprehensive Shift Handover: Compile a detailed end-of-shift report covering the total scheduled load counts, active breakdown logs, and a non-conformance log of driver phone calls for formal review and sign-off by the incoming controller or OpsMan.
• Operational Rules for the Monitoring Division 2 All Fleet Monitoring Team Members must strictly adhere to the following rules to maintain operational integrity, data quality, and compliance
• Strict Rule Enforcements (7-Day Suspensions): Logistics Controllers have the system authority to block/suspend a truck or driver for non-compliance. Unauthorized route deviations, missing a geofence breach warning, or failing to answer control room calls must lead to an immediate 7-day suspension protocol, subject to immediate consultation with the OpsMan.
• Mandatory Panic Button Protocol: If a tracking unit panic alert or hijacking notification triggers, the Controller must NEVER call the driver directly. You must immediately put the asset into "Live-Tracking" mode and make a direct telephone escalation to the OpsMan.
• Critical Accident Data Locking: In the event of an accident involving injury or fatality, the Controller's immediate data priority after verifying emergency services are dispatched—is to place an immediate digital "lock" on the Tihlo TMS asset history and download all camera footage leading up to the incident for insurance and legal preservation.
• Data and Resource Integrity: Altering logs, ignoring safety alerts, or failing to report a breakdown is viewed with severity. Abuse of company assets, including unauthorized personal use of hardware or the provided unlimited internet, will result in immediate disciplinary measures.
