Key responsibilities
Lodge leadership and daily operations

Set clear standards and responsibilities for departmental leaders; run daily briefings, inspect the property and verify operational readiness before guest arrivals and service periods. Coordinate occupancy, arrivals, departures, special requests and departmental workloads. Maintain effective duty management, handovers and cover during absences. Implement operating procedures and improvement plans; resolve recurring service failures and hold teams accountable for agreed actions.

Guest experience and service standards

Build personal relationships with guests and remain visible throughout their stay. Ensure preferences, dietary needs and special occasions are accurately communicated and delivered. Take ownership of complaints and service recovery. Monitor GuestRevu, TripAdvisor and direct feedback; address root causes and oversee timely, professional responses in line with policy. Inspect rooms, public areas and dining experiences regularly, ensuring presentation, cleanliness and service consistently meet the lodges standards.

Financial performance and commercial management

Manage the lodges operating budget and forecasts with management and finance. Review monthly profit and loss results, explain variances and implement corrective action. Control payroll, purchasing, food and beverage costs, utilities and other operating expenses without compromising guest standards or asset condition. Be involved in stock counts, requisitions, cash and billing controls, wastage, breakages and supplier performance. Maintain accurate records and investigate discrepancies promptly. Work with reservations and sales to support occupancy, room revenue, repeat business and appropriate additional guest spend. Monitor performance against agreed revenue and profitability targets.
