Job summary

Hospitality and Outdoor in Hoedspruit is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead the lodge's technical operations, facilities, grounds and equipment across a remote luxury setting.

Responsibilities include implementing preventative maintenance, supervising staff, managing budgets and ensuring HACCP compliance in kitchens and bars.

Applicants should have Grade 12, 2–3 years as Maintenance Supervisor, lodge experience, and strong leadership and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 is essential.
• Minimum 2–3 years’ experience as a Maintenance Supervisor is essential.
• Previous lodge experience is preferred.
• Good technical understanding of plumbing, carpentry and electrical systems.
• Understanding of electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems.
• Basic vehicle servicing experience is required.
• Road maintenance experience is required.
• Solar systems experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of facilities, machinery and equipment.
• Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail, initiative and interpersonal skills.
• Presentable, well-spoken and professional.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance of the lodge, business areas and facilities, including buildings, fixtures, furniture, equipment, landscaping, gardens and recreational areas.
• Implement preventative maintenance programmes to extend equipment lifespan.
• Manage maintenance stock control and achieve the expense budget.
• Ensure HACCP principles are maintained in kitchens, bars and food production areas.
• Ensure all work meets company standards.
• Lead the maintenance team according to relevant laws and procedures.
• Communicate with guests, conduct satisfaction checks and provide feedback.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
