Job summary

Smith Nephew in Cape Town is seeking an Inventory Controller to manage loan set inventory and related stock. You will prepare and maintain kits, inspect instruments, and ensure timely deliveries and returns.

The role requires hands-on kit handling, maintaining safety stock, and coordinating with the supply chain. A hybrid working model is supported, with training provided.

Qualifications

• Must have basic inventory control experience.
• Experience handling loan sets and instrument kits.
• Familiarity with stock monitoring and order placement.

Responsibilities

• Ensure loan sets are complete and correct for customer delivery.
• Coordinate deliveries/returns on schedule.
• Inspect items for working condition and replenish safety stock.
• Order inventory for loan set requirements and manage reverse logistics.
• Update computer systems with returns and stock changes.

What will you be doing?

The role is responsible for all functions related to Loan set/Inventory management. This involves kit preparation, kit filling, kit maintenance, washing of instrumentation, checking of instrumentation, ordering of inventory for loan set requirements, as well as reverse logistics and ensuring physical checking of all returns and updating on the computer system.

What will you need to be successful?

• Ensure that loan sets are complete and correct for customer delivery.
• Ensure that deliveries/returns take place on schedule.
• Inspect all items to ensure that they are in working condition.
• Ensure that Safety Stock levels are maintained.
• Ensure that kits are replenished timeously

Successful candidates would need the following:

• Matric Qualification
