Job summary

e-Merge IT Recruitment proudly presents a role in a Johannesburg-based investment banking operations team. You will own financial data integrity across P&L investigations, loan settlements, and interest calculations within complex debt transactions.

You'll manage the end-to-end deal lifecycle, including bookings, draws, repayments, restructures, and settlements, while collaborating with clients, lenders and internal stakeholders to maintain precise records and strengthen controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Commerce or a related discipline.
• 3–4 years of relevant experience in financial services, banking operations or a finance-related environment.
• Hands-on experience in Investment Banking Debt, Loans Administration, Agency or syndicated lending.
• Strong knowledge of reconciliations, loan settlements, interest calculations, margins and P&L investigations.
• Ability to interpret legal agreements and manage complex financial transactions accurately.
• Experience with ACBS, Loan IQ, SyndTrak or similar loan booking systems is an advantage.
• Natural problem-solver who takes ownership and builds stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities

• Own the numbers: investigate P&L queries, interest calculations, margin discrepancies, and financial breaks.
• Manage the deal lifecycle: oversee loan bookings, drawdowns, repayments, prepayments, restructures and settlements.
• Navigate syndicated lending: work with clients, lenders and internal stakeholders for accurate bookings and settlements.
• Be the control behind the deal: validate settlement figures and reconcile funding positions.
• Identify process improvements and strengthen operational controls.
