You will manage case files, prepare legal documents, coordinate court appearances, and ensure efficient workflow in the litigation department. Bilingual proficiency (Afrikaans and English) and valid driver's license are essential.

Requirements
Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent
Legal studies or secretarial qualification (advantageous)
Minimum 3-5+ years experience as a Litigation Secretary in a law firm
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Knowledge of litigation processes and South African court procedures
Legal case management software experience
Excellent typing skills with high accuracy
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Bilingual: Afrikaans and English (Essential)
Valid driver's license and reliable transport (Essential)
Prepare, format, and proofread legal documents (pleadings, affidavits, motions, briefs)
File documents with courts and ensure compliance with deadlines and court rules
Maintain and organize case files (electronic and physical) with accuracy
Schedule and coordinate meetings, court appearances, and depositions
Liaise with attorneys, counsel, clients, judges, and court personnel
Manage attorney diaries and arrange meetings
Prepare files for billing purposes
Communicate with opposing counsel and court personnel
Perform general administrative tasks (phones, correspondence, supplies)
Maintain accurate records and information storage
