Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Literacy Intervention Specialist to join our educational partner in East London. You will identify students with reading and writing difficulties and deliver targeted, evidence-based interventions to improve literacy outcomes.

The role involves close collaboration with teachers, parents, and support staff to create a comprehensive literacy support system, administer assessments, monitor progress, and report outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field; master's preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of literacy instruction or intervention.
• In-depth knowledge of reading and writing development and intervention strategies.
• Proficiency in administering and interpreting literacy assessments.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct diagnostic assessments to identify students' literacy strengths and weaknesses.
• Develop and implement individualized and small-group intervention plans for struggling readers and writers.
• Utilize research-based literacy strategies and multi-sensory approaches.
• Monitor student progress through ongoing assessments and document outcomes effectively.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to provide strategies and support for literacy instruction.
• Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress and provide resources for home support.
