Job summary

Vision Elevators (Pty) Ltd is seeking a qualified Lift Technician to service, maintain and repair elevators and escalators. The role demands hands-on electrical/mechanical work, hydraulic knowledge, and safety compliance in line with regulations.

Requirements include Grade 12, trade-tested status, and 2–5 years’ experience on lifts/escalators. A driver’s license and additional electrical/mechanical training are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 education.
• Trade qualification as Lift Technician or Lift Mechanic.
• Driver's license is required.
• 2–5 years’ experience working specifically on lifts and escalators.
• Electrical and mechanical skills with hydraulics knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Repair, maintain and service lifts (passenger, goods, stair lifts) and escalators.
• Connect electrical wiring to control panels and motors.
• Maintain safety controls, door mechanisms and related components.
• Check compliance with safety regulations and complete service reports.
• Locate malfunctions in brakes, motors, switches and control systems.
• Willing to work planned overtime and standby after hours.

A local and nationally represented company specializing in the supply, installation and maintenance of products for the vertical lifting industry is looking for a qualifiedLift Technician who will be primarily responsible for servicing, preventative maintenance and repair work on Elevators and Escalators

Job Description

Core Responsibilities and Duties:

• - Repair, maintain and service lifts (passenger, goods, stair lifts) and escalators using hand and power tools, testing devices such as test lamps, ammeters and voltmeters.
• - Connect electrical wiring to control panels and electric motors.
• - Maintain/adjustsafety controls, counterweights, door mechanisms, and components such as valves, ratchets, seals and brake linings.
• - Check that safety regulations and building codes are met and complete service reports verifying condition of lift and conformance to standards.
• - Locate malfunctions in brakes, motors, switches, and signal and control systems using test equipment.
• - Willing to work planned overtime and after hours standby schedule.
