Placements24 is seeking a diligent Legal Counsel in Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa, to focus on contract management and regulatory compliance. The role involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts, advising on legal terms, and ensuring adherence to SA laws and regulations.

You will develop compliance programs, conduct legal research, and manage the contract lifecycle while collaborating with sales, procurement, and HR in a dynamic tech environment.

Qualifications

• LLB degree from a recognized institution.
• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in commercial contract law and/or regulatory compliance.
• Experience drafting and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements.
• Solid understanding of South African contract law and relevant regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment.
• Experience with technology-related contracts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide array of commercial contracts, including service agreements, supplier contracts, partnership agreements, and NDAs.
• Advise business units on contractual terms, risks, and obligations.
• Ensure company adherence to all applicable national and local laws and regulations.
