Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Legal Consultant specializing in Intellectual Property (IP) to join a remote-first consultancy. The role focuses on advising clients on IP strategy, protection, and commercialization of patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets across South Africa.

You will draft, review, and negotiate IP agreements, conduct IP due diligence, and provide strategic guidance for portfolio maintenance.

Qualificações

• Admitted Attorney with IP specialization.
• 6+ years post-qualification IP experience.
• Strong drafting and negotiation of IP agreements.

About the Role

This is a fully remote contract position, offering unparalleled flexibility and the opportunity to work from anywhere within South Africa. You will be responsible for advising clients on IP strategy, protection, and commercialization, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of IP law and its application in a business context, with proven experience in drafting IP-related agreements and managing IP portfolios. We are looking for a proactive, client-focused professional who can provide strategic advice and practical solutions in a remote-first environment. Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert legal advice on all aspects of intellectual property law, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and designs.
• Develop and implement IP strategies for clients to protect their innovations and brands.

Requirements

• Excellent drafting and negotiation skills for IP agreements.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage client projects effectively in a remote setting.
