Our mine, situated in the Limpopo Province about 60 kilometers from Lydenburg and 40 kilometers from Burgersfort, and is a world-class producer of Chrome Ore.
The successful applicant will report to the Sustainable Development Manager or nominee.
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 12/Standard 10 Certificate.
- Diploma in Procurement / Accounting/Finance/ Auditing/Business Management/Supplier Chain Management or any relevant Social Science qualification.
- Code 08 (B) Driver's Licence or higher.
- Advantageous: Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement / Accounting/Finance/ Auditing/Business Management/Supplier Chain Management or any relevant Social Science qualification
EXPERIENCE (including but not limited to)
- 3 years practical experience in Local Economic Development.
- 2 years practical experience in supplier development programmes.
- Advantageous: 1 - 2 years practical supervisory and project management experience.
DUTIES (including but not limited to)
- Assist sustainable development department to analyse, develop and implement social and labour commitments and ensuring effective stakeholder relationships. Ensure the effective planning, implementation and monitoring of Local Economic Development initiatives within the local communities whilst establishing and maintaining good stakeholder relations and simultaneously ensuring legal compliance.
- Assist beneficiaries in project proposals for LED management evaluation and provide feedback on rejected or approved proposals. Ensure project structures are implemented and beneficiaries receive relevant training where required. Ensure projects are implemented on time and on budget and report progress to the supervisor/manager. Monitor progress of all projects and assist in any day to day problems which may arise. Ensure that all LED-related social and labour plan commitments are completed and reported on within the specified timeframes and according to plan. Ensure that all projects implemented are self-sustaining within the 3-year control period, and monitor the sustainability of the business for an additional 2 years thereafter.
- Monitor cost control on all project budgets and submit proposals for additional funding from Mine Management
- Ensure effective incorporation, implementation and management of the Operational standards, Operational objectives and risk profiles in line with approved strategy while pro-actively anticipating legislation and other changes that may impact on the business unit. Compile various reports and communicate to all relevant stakeholders, both internally and externally.
- Compile project progress reports and submit to line manager. Contribute to annual reviews and provide feedback to local government. Investigate and compile reports on LED developments and present to stakeholders. Ensure compliance with corporate governance standards, audit and reporting protocols (internal and external) in line with SLP and relevant legislations.
- Assist the SD Manager to establish policies, guidelines and best practices that are legally compliant with procurement legislation and guidelines.
- Support development of enterprise development opportunities with host communities. Identify and develop business opportunities in the host communities. This includes business plans development, interaction and negotiations with potential partners. Monitor and evaluate progress on identified opportunities, develop reports and ensure that identified gaps are closed timeously.
- Conducting annual and periodical supplier audits for the operations in support of finance as per policy guidelines.
