Job summary

STADIO Higher Education invites applications for the position of Lecturer in the School of Law in South Africa. Assumption date is 01 January 2027.

The role focuses on Jurisprudence and/or Procedural Law and/or Mercantile Law, with responsibilities across teaching, assessment, moderation, and academic administration. The successful candidate will have an LLM (or near completion of LLD/PhD in Law), teaching experience in higher education, and strong knowledge of LMS platforms and legal databases.

Qualifications

• Enrolled or completed SA LLM/LLD/PhD in Law.
• Experience teaching in higher education.
• Knowledge of LMS tools (Canvas) and legal databases (Sabinet, JutaStat, LexisNexis).
• Proven research track record in law-related fields.

Lecturer School of Law

Assumption date 01 January 2027

Key roles and responsibilities:

• Lecturing (with specific focus on Jurisprudence and/or Procedural Law and/or Mercantile Law).
• Assessment and moderation.
• Academic administration and other delegated duties.
• Research.
• Marking assignments and exam papers.
• Using the Learning Management System (LMS)

Minimum requirement:

• At least enrolled in a South African LLD/ PhD (Law) degree in the relevant field (or a closely related field).
• Preferable that the candidate has completed the degree or is close to completing the degree.
• Expertise in the relevant field: Jurisprudence and/or Procedural Law and/or Mercantile Law).
• Relevant teaching experience in higher education.
• Good knowledge of an LMS, such as Canvas, as an online learning management system / tool.
• Good knowledge of legal databases such as Sabinet, JutaStat and LexisNexis.
• A basic research track record.

Qualification:

A minimum of a South African LLM degree in the relevant field (or a closely related fieldCompleted or enrolled in a South African LLD or PhD (Law) degree. (Preferably close to completing the degree if enrolled)
