• Knowledge of and experience in facilitation in an E-learning environment.
• Registration with SACE.
• Fully computer literate and proficient in English.
• Access to stable WiFi/data and a functional laptop or desktop computer.

SANTS seeks to appoint a suitable candidate in the BEd (Foundation Phase Teaching) programme in a permanent capacity specifically for English language and other education modules like Professional Studies and Life Skills .Applicants to note that you will be required to attend regular contact meetings at SANTS' Head Office in Pretoria .

Lecturer in the BEd (Foundation Phase Teaching) programme (1 post): English

Responsibilities

Working in this Academic Department, under the leadership of the Academic Head, the incumbent will be expected to fulfil the following duties of a Lecturer in the Foundation Phase unit as described in the minimum requirements:

• Working under the leadership of an Academic Head with mainly English language modules.
• Working in an online environment related to Distance Education.
• Curriculum development of modules in the programme based in the department.
• Presenting and coordinating undergraduate modules. This includes moderation, report writing, marking, and providing academic support to students.
• Using a learning management system.
• Reviewing and developing assessments.
• Coordinating external markers.
• Contribute to internal and external moderation processes.
• Contribute to Quality Assurance processes.
• Contribute to research processes.
• BEd degree in Foundation Phase with English Home Language and First Additional Language as school subjects/modules.
• BA with English as subject/module and a Post Graduate Certificate (PGCE) in Foundation Phase with English Home Language as school subject.
• An Honour's degree in Education.
• At least two years of experience in the Foundation Phase classroom context.
• At least two years' experience at a Higher Education Institution in Foundation Phase Education.
• Experience and expertise in curriculum development.
• Knowledge of and experience in facilitation in an E-learning environment.
• Registration with SACE.
• Fully computer literate and proficient in English.

• Knowledge of the South African education system regarding Foundation Phase Education.

• High level of computer literacy.
• Competent and confident to engage effectively with online assessment.
