Job summary

Rosebank College, the Independent Institute of Education (The IIE) seeks a lecturer to teach an agreed number of hours, engage students for assessments, and support administrative tasks. Emphasis on research methods and module analysis within a dynamic academic environment.

Candidate should hold a Master’s (with research component) and an Honours, have lecturing experience at postgraduate level, and be able to work across faculties with strong assessment development and development of at-risk

Qualifications

• Master's degree with a research component in the discipline.
• Honours at NQF8 plus master's with research component.
• Lecturing experience in research methods and related designs.
• Experience supervising postgraduate research projects.
• Experience with qualitative, quantitative, mixed-methods or design science.
• Copy of academic transcript available on request.
• One NQF level higher than the taught qualification.
• Industry experience 1-3 years is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and engage students per module pacers.
• Manage resources including academic materials and liaise with Information Centre.
• Update the LMS and provide student feedback.
• Prepare students for assessments and identify at-risk learners.
• Monitor engagement and assessment submissions with escalation.
• Attend academic meetings across faculties.
• Reflect on and analyse student module results.
• Support monitoring of at-risk students in assigned modules.
• Complete specified academic professional development interventions annually.

Master's degree in information systems/computer science or information technology (with research component)

Honours degree in Information Systems/CS/IT with master's in related field (NQF 8) + research component

Experience with qualitative, quantitative, mixed-method and/or design science research methods

Copy of academic transcript

One NQF level higher than the qualification being taught

1-3 years of industry-specific experience (advantageous)
