Job summary

Rosebank College seeks a lecturer to teach IT-related modules, monitor progress and support assessment preparation. Responsibilities include updating the LMS, engaging with students, and collaborating with the Central Academic Team to improve module outcomes.

Requirements include two Master’s degrees (one in IT or related field, another in cognate business with IT content), lecturer experience, and familiarity with governance, risk and IT strategy concepts. A transcript copy is required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree (NQF Level 9) in IT, Information Systems, Digital Transformation, IT Governance, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Computing or closely related discipline.
• A Master’s degree (NQF Level 9) in a cognate business field with substantial IT content or research relevant to digital transformation or IT governance.
• Lecturing/tutoring experience in IT governance, digital transformation, information systems management, IT strategy, technology management or related areas.
• Work experience in governance, risk, compliance or service-management frameworks is advantageous. Research/postgraduate supervision experience is advantageous.
• 2 to 3 years Lecturing or Formal Tutoring.
• 1 to 3 years industry-specific experience in area of specialization.
• One NQF level higher than the qualification being taught.
• Copy of academic transcript.

Responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and engage students based on module-specific requirements in line with module pacers.
• Manage resources including academic materials and consulting with the Information Centre.
• Update learning management system and provide feedback to students.
• Engage and prepare students for assessments, identify at risk students, and develop assessments in accordance with Central Academic Team briefings.
• Monitor student engagement and assessment submissions with relevant escalation.
• Attend and participate in academic meetings across all faculties.
• Reflect on, review, and analyse student module results.
• Support the monitoring of at-risk student in modules assigned to lecture.
• Academic Professional Development: complete a set number of interventions per academic cycle.
