Stellenbosch University invites applications for a Lecturer in Digital- and Leadership Acumen for Accountants. The role focuses on innovative teaching and curriculum development across Digital Acumen and Leadership streams, shaping the professional development of students aligned with SAICA, CIMA and ACCA.

The successful candidate will contribute to research, supervision, and community engagement while working in a collegial academic environment.

Qualifications

• Honours degree or Postgraduate Diploma (NQF 8) in a field relevant to Digital Acumen and/or Leadership Acumen.
• Academic excellence evidenced by transcripts and proven research experience (master's degree, PhD, or publications in DHET-approved journals).
• Demonstrated digital literacy and ability to use and critically evaluate digital technologies relevant to accounting education and professional practice.
• Ability to teach and function effectively in a large, multilingual teaching and learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate learning, teaching and assessment activities in undergraduate modules within the Digital Acumen Stream and/or Leadership Acumen Stream, including contributions to curriculum design and pedagogical innovation.
• Develop and implement digital and online learning activities and assessments, including the creation of simulations and authentic learning experiences.
• Contribute to ongoing curriculum development in response to emerging technologies, artificial intelligence, sustainability and accountancy profession developments.
• Participate in postgraduate supervision in Accountancy and related research fields, initially under guidance where appropriate.
• Engage in research and publish academic work in Accountancy and related fields in reputable peer-reviewed and DHET-approved journals.
• Participate in community interaction and social impact initiatives, including involvement in SAICA's Thuthuka project as required.
• Undertake academic administration and internal and external service-rendering activities.
