Job summary

Qualifications

• Master’s degree (NQF Level 9) in Information Systems or a closely related IT/Data discipline.
• Master’s degree (NQF Level 9) in a cognate business or technology field with substantial IT content.
• Lecturing/tutoring experience in databases, programming, big data, data analytics or data science.
• Work experience as data analyst/scientist; familiarity with advanced Excel and Power BI is advantageous.
• 2–3 years lecturing or formal tutoring.
• 1–3 years industry-specific experience in the area of specialization is advantageous.
• One NQF level higher than the qualification being taught.
• Copy of academic transcript.

Responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and engage students based on module requirements.
• Update learning materials and consult the Information Centre.
• Update learning management system and provide feedback to students.
• Prepare students for assessments and identify at-risk learners.
• Monitor student engagement and assessment submissions with escalation.
• Attend academic meetings across faculties.
• Review and analyze student module results.
• Support monitoring of at-risk students in assigned modules.
• Complete academic professional development interventions yearly.
