Job summary

Mediclinic George is seeking a Learning and Development Facilitator to ensure nursing competence within the regulatory framework and aligned with the Mediclinic Southern Africa strategy. You will manage and report on employee development, including student learning, in a structured manner.

The role requires essential nursing qualifications, a postgraduate education diploma or equivalent experience, and a track record in nursing education or clinical facilitation within a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Essential: Professional Nurse qualification and Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing Education, or 3 years’ experience as Clinical Facilitator.
• Essential minimum experience: 5+ years as a Professional Nurse in a hospital; 2+ years in Clinical Facilitator/Nurse Educator roles.
• Knowledge of HWSETA/SANC requirements and related healthcare legislation.
• Adaptation of adult learning principles to clinical education and training sessions.
• Familiarity with Mediclinic policies, LMS, and record systems.

Responsibilities

• Advocate a learning culture within the hospital setting.
• Plan and manage employee development aligned with MCSA strategy.
• Manage formal student programs and placements.
• Maintain custodianship of learning and development standards for the locality.
• Support transformation through learning and development initiatives.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

The Learning and development Facilitator ensures competence within the legislative environment and Mediclinic Southern Africa strategy as aligned with the HR Service Delivery Model. The facilitator manages and reports on employee development, including student learning, in a structured manner.

• Act as custodian of learning and development standards of the locality

REQUIRED EDUCATION

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION:

Professional Nurse qualification, and Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing Education OR 3 years’ experience as a Clinical Facilitator

At least 5 years’ experience as a Professional Nurse in a hospital environment.
