Job summary

Valterra Platinum Limited is seeking a Learning Manager to establish a comprehensive learning ecosystem for a mechanized underground mining operation in Mokopane, Limpopo. The role focuses on operational readiness, ramp up, and skills development across technical, safety, and leadership domains.

You will lead the design of governance, training policies, and modern delivery methods (digital platforms, simulations) while ensuring compliance with mining charters and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Assessor/ Moderator/ Lead Auditor Certificate is required.
• Post Graduate Degree will be advantageous.
• Experience, technical knowledge and skills include 5–7 years in related roles, with 2 years in middle management.

Responsibilities

• Design the learning function structure, governance frameworks, training materials, policies and capability building strategy.
• Develop and ensure execution of the operational readiness learning strategy aligned to construction milestones and ramp up schedule.
• Accountable for Contractor management during construction and commissioning ensuring learning delivery of Contractor inductions and competency verification.
• Develop a comprehensive mechanized mining competency and capability framework covering technical, safety, leadership and digital competencies.
• Establish structured learning pathways and career development aligned with business objectives and social and labour plan commitments.
• Collaborate with Valterra Corporate Learning Delivery to implement modern delivery methods such as digital platforms and simulations to optimize outcomes.
• Accountable for Skills Development and Mining Charter Compliance and use analytics to measure training effectiveness.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning and performance improvement with ongoing support and development opportunities.
• Implement Learning Delivery governance policy, procedures and standards and deliver learning solutions per the services catalogue.
