Overview
We're looking for a Learning Architect to join our purpose-driven, values-led team and help design high-quality, AI-enabled online learning experiences at Next Gen Learning (NGL). This role is ideal for an experienced instructional or learning designer who enjoys applying learning science, collaborating with experts, and building innovative educational products.
In this role, you'll work with faculty and internal teams to design, prototype, and build online learning experiences that blend pedagogy, technology, and AI-powered tutoring. You'll contribute to configuring AI-supported and enabled learning activities, structuring course flows, and ensuring that each lesson reflects evidence-based learning design. You'll also support the continuous improvement of NGL's course development systems, templates, and methodologies.

What You'll Do
Learning Design, Course Development, and AI Tutorial Support
- Contribute to the instructional design process using the Successive Approximation Model and backward design under the guidance of senior staff.
- Support design workshops with faculty to clarify learning goals and course structure.
- Translate expert input into engaging learning materials using principles such as flipped learning, conversational learning, and mastery learning.
- Assist in developing and refining system prompts and RAG elements to support high-quality AI-powered tutorials.
- Prototype course components, gather feedback from faculty and internal teams, and refine designs iteratively.
- Configure elements of the learning experience within the AI tutor environment, ensuring alignment with pedagogical goals and technical requirements.
Collaboration and Relationship Management
- Work closely with faculty and subject matter experts to support the development of effective learning experiences.
- Collaborate with design, content, and product teams to ensure coherence of tone, visuals, and learning strategy.
- Maintain strong communication and follow-through across projects to keep development on track.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to evolving NGL's course development methodology, especially around emerging AI-enabled learning tools.
- Help maintain and improve internal learning design templates, checklists, and quality frameworks.
- Participate in product feedback cycles to identify learner needs, workflow improvements, and opportunities for innovation.
Who You Are
- Experienced instructional designer, learning designer, or learning architect with 3+ years in edtech, online learning, or a related fast-moving environment.
- Strong collaborator who builds constructive relationships with faculty and cross-functional teams.
- Comfortable taking ownership of tasks while seeking clarity, guidance, and alignment where needed.
- Interested in AI-enabled learning and eager to develop deeper skills in configuring and testing AI tutors.
- Creative, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement in learning design.
- Adaptable and excited to contribute within a growing edtech startup environment aligned with NGL's values.
