Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an imaginative and accomplished Lead VFX Artist to direct their visual effects team in Bloemfontein. You will shape the artistic vision and oversee technical execution across the production pipeline, mentoring a team of VFX artists and collaborating with directors to achieve breathtaking results.

You will design and implement a wide range of visual effects, ensure performance targets, stay abreast of industry trends, and help establish best practices in a creative studio

Qualifications

• Extensive experience as a VFX Artist in film, game, or animation with leadership experience.
• Strong portfolio showcasing exceptional VFX work and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in Houdini, Maya, After Effects, and particle systems.
• Experience with real-time VFX development for game engines is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of VFX artists, providing artistic direction and technical guidance throughout the production pipeline.
• Design, create, and implement a wide range of visual effects, including explosions, fire, smoke, magic, and environmental effects.
