Qualifications

Responsibilities

Our client, a prominent tech innovator based in Centurion, Gauteng , is actively searching for a talented and visionary Lead UI/UX Designer to spearhead their user interface and user experience initiatives. This senior position requires a passionate individual who can translate complex user needs into intuitive, engaging, and visually stunning digital experiences. You will lead a team of designers, guide the design process from conception to execution, and champion user-centered design principles across all product development. The ideal candidate has a strong portfolio showcasing innovative solutions for web and mobile applications, a deep understanding of user research methodologies, and a proven ability to mentor and inspire a design team. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design vision and strategy for user interfaces and user experiences across all digital products.
• Conduct user research, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to gather insights and inform design decisions.
• Create wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups to effectively communicate design concepts.
• Develop and maintain design systems, style guides, and UI kits to ensure consistency and scalability.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to define product requirements and deliver exceptional user experiences.
• Mentor and guide junior UI/UX designers, fostering a culture of design excellence and continuous improvement.
• Present design solutions and rationale to stakeholders, effectively articulating design choices and their impact.
• Advocate for user-centered design principles throughout the product development lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in UI/UX design, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in user-centered design, wireframing, prototyping, and visual design for web and mobile applications.
• Proficiency in industry-standard design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, InVision, etc.
• Solid understanding of user research methodologies, usability testing, and information architecture.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in leading design teams and managing design projects.
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
• Experience working in the tech industry in or near Centurion, Gauteng is advantageous.
