Job summary

Qetello Holdings, on behalf of our client, seeks an Assistant Workshop Manager/Workshop Supervisor – Trucks & Trailers in Johannesburg to oversee daily workshop operations and fleet maintenance.

The role involves supervising staff, coordinating repairs, ensuring safety standards, and maintaining comprehensive records for heavy vehicles and trailers. Diesel mechanic qualification and supervisory experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Qualified Diesel Mechanic with supervisory experience.
• Experience with heavy vehicles and/or trailers.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight timelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily management and coordination of the workshop.
• Allocate work to mechanics, technicians and workshop assistants.
• Monitor repairs, servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Prioritise urgent repairs and breakdowns.
• Monitor turnaround times and minimize downtime.
• Inspect completed work before release of vehicles.
• Ensure services and inspections meet required standards.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Provide management with workshop performance updates.
