Placements24 in Stellenbosch, Western Cape, seeks a Head Strength and Conditioning Coach to design and lead comprehensive strength, speed, and conditioning programs for elite student‑athletes across multiple sports.

The role requires advanced knowledge in sports science and injury prevention, plus strong leadership and communication to mentor interns and collaborate with coaches and medical staff.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Exercise Science or related field.
• CSCS or SCCC certification required.
• Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in collegiate or professional strength and conditioning.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and oversee periodized strength and conditioning programs for all athletic teams.
• Conduct athlete assessments to identify strengths, weaknesses, and injury risks.
• Supervise and guide assistant coaches and interns in the S&C department.
• Educate athletes on training techniques, nutrition, and recovery strategies.
• Collaborate with sport coaches to align conditioning with sport demands.
• Work with medical staff to manage rehabilitation and return‑to‑play protocols.
• Maintain training logs and performance data for all athletes.
• Ensure safe and effective use of training equipment and facilities.
• Stay current with research and advancements in sports science and S&C.
• Contribute to the athlete development strategy of the academy.
