Placements24 seeks an accomplished Lead Software Engineer in Gauteng to guide a talented team in designing, developing, and deploying large-scale software systems. The role emphasizes leadership, architecture, and hands-on technical excellence to deliver scalable solutions.

You will mentor engineers, drive architectural decisions, and ensure secure, robust code. On-site in Tembisa/Gauteng with opportunities for growth and innovation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 7+ years in software development with at least 2 in a technical leadership or lead engineer role.
• Proven track record in designing and building large-scale, distributed systems.
• Proficiency in one or more object-oriented programming languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python, Go).
• Deep understanding of software architecture patterns, microservices, and cloud-native technologies (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Experience with relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle) and NoSQL databases.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD principles and tools.
• Excellent problem-solving, strategic thinking, and decision-making abilities.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
• Experience in the Tembisa, Gauteng region is advantageous.
