Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Project Manager for on-site leadership of renewable energy initiatives in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. You will oversee all phases from feasibility to handover, coordinating engineering teams, regulators, and contractors to meet scope, schedule, and budget requirements.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years of renewable energy project management, strong budgeting skills for large-scale projects, and fluency with MS Project and Primavera.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil) or related technical discipline.
• Minimum 6 years of proven project management experience, with renewable energy focus (solar, wind).
• Experience managing project budgets of R5 million or more.
• Strong understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
• Experience with PPA negotiations and relevant regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in project management software (MS Project, Primavera).
• Ability to work on-site in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal, with dynamic teams.
• Problem-solving skills and decision-making under pressure.
• Commitment to safety and environmental sustainability.

Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of renewable energy projects, ensuring scope, budget, and timeline adherence.
• Develop detailed project plans, including WBS, resource allocation, and risk management.
• Coordinate with engineering teams, contractors, suppliers, and regulators to meet objectives.
• Oversee site preparation, construction activities, and equipment installation with safety and quality standards.
• Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and implement cost controls.
• Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings to monitor performance.
• Identify and mitigate risks, escalate as needed to senior management.
• Ensure compliance with local and national regulations, environmental standards, and safety protocols.
• Facilitate effective communication among clients, investors, and local communities.
• Prepare and present project status reports, financial updates, and performance metrics.
