Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Renewable Energy Project Manager to lead solar and wind developments around Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. You will steer projects from feasibility through commissioning, coordinating EPCs, budgets, and stakeholder engagement to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering, 6+ years in renewables project management, and strong PM skills; a Master's or PMP is highly desirable, with travel across KwaZulu-Natal and beyond.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil) or related field.
• Master's degree or PMP certification is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 6 years of proven project management experience in renewables or infrastructure.
• Experience managing solar PV and/or wind farm projects from concept to completion.
• Strong understanding of PM methodologies and grid integration.
• Proficiency in MS Project and Primavera P6.
• Willingness to travel extensively within KwaZulu-Natal and nationally.

Responsibilities

• Manage full lifecycle of renewable energy projects (solar, wind) from planning to closure.
• Develop detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Coordinate and supervise EPC activities.
• Identify and mitigate project risks; manage regulatory and safety compliance.
• Engage internal stakeholders, contractors, suppliers, and authorities.
• Oversee budgets, cost control, and payments.
• Conduct regular site visits and report progress to management.
• Build relationships with local communities and key stakeholders.
