Placements24 is seeking a Lead Propulsion Systems Engineer for a prominent aerospace technology client in Polokwane, Limpopo. This hybrid role combines on-site leadership with remote flexibility, focusing on the design, development, testing, and integration of advanced aircraft propulsion systems.

The ideal candidate will hold a Master’s or Ph.D. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with propulsion specialization, 8+ years in propulsion, and proven leadership.

Qualificações

• Master’s or PhD in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with propulsion specialization.
• 8+ years of experience in design and development of aircraft propulsion systems.
• Proven leadership experience managing engineering projects and teams.
• Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, gas turbine engine cycles, and combustion.
• Proficiency in CFD and structural analysis software; engine test procedures.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the design and development of propulsion systems, including jet engines and turboprop configurations.
• Oversee performance analysis, simulation, and testing of engine components and systems.
• Ensure propulsion systems meet performance, efficiency, emissions, and safety requirements.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, materials, and testing teams for seamless development.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources for propulsion program.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to propulsion engineers.
• Conduct FMEA and other safety assessments; support certification activities.
• Stay updated on new propulsion technologies and industry best practices.
• Present technical findings to senior management and stakeholders.
