Job summary

Placements24 supports a premier client in Vereeniging, Gauteng, ZA, seeking a Lead Project Manager to drive end-to-end delivery of major infrastructure programs. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, ensure safety, sustainability, and quality, and maintain strict time and budget controls.

You will manage planning, risk, stakeholders, and financial performance, while driving continuous improvement and reporting to senior leadership. This is an on-site, full-time role based in Vereeniging.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related engineering discipline.
• A Master's degree is advantageous.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in project management, with at least 7 years in leadership of large-scale infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the planning, execution, and successful delivery of multiple complex infrastructure projects simultaneously.
• Develop detailed project scope, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
• Lead, mentor, and manage project teams, including engineers, contractors, and site personnel.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental protocols.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and foster strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and develop contingency plans.
• Monitor project performance against key metrics and provide regular progress reports to senior management.

About the Role

Our client, a prominent player in the construction and infrastructure sector, is seeking a highly experienced Lead Project Manager for their operations in Vereeniging, Gauteng, ZA. This critical role will be responsible for the end-to-end management of major infrastructure development projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The successful candidate will lead a team of project professionals, manage stakeholder relationships, and oversee all aspects of project planning, execution, and closure. Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related engineering discipline.
• A Master's degree is advantageous.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in project management, with at least 7 years in a leadership role focused on large-scale infrastructure projects (e.g., roads, bridges, utilities, buildings).
• Proven track record of successfully delivering projects valued at (Specific Value) or higher.
• In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes, and safety regulations.
• Strong leadership, team management, and conflict resolution skills.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Proficiency in project management software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, and relevant CAD software.
• Experience in the Vereeniging, Gauteng, ZA area is a plus.
• Professional registration (e.g., Pr Eng, Pr CM) is highly desirable.
• Must be able to work full-time on-site in Vereeniging, Gauteng, ZA.
