Job summary

Redline Recruitment is seeking an experienced Project Manager for commercial interior fit-out projects based in Sandton, Johannesburg. You will oversee projects from inception to handover, coordinating multiple stakeholders and managing budgets to ensure on-time delivery and quality.

The ideal candidate has strong construction and interior fit-out background with solid financial and project management skills, and can manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Relevant construction project management experience and/or qualification is essential.
• Proven experience managing commercial interior fit-out projects is essential.
• Previous experience managing office fit-out projects will be highly advantageous.
• Quantity Surveying degree or relevant Quantity Surveying qualification is essential/preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial interior fit-out and refurbishment projects from project commencement through to final handover.
• Take overall responsibility for project planning, programming, budgets, resources and delivery.
• Coordinate contractors, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, designers and other project stakeholders.
• Manage project timelines and ensure key milestones and deadlines are achieved.
• Monitor project costs, budgets, variations and expenditure throughout the project lifecycle.
• Liaise directly with clients and provide regular project progress updates.
• Conduct site meetings and oversee the progress and quality of work on site.
• Identify potential project risks, delays and cost implications and implement solutions proactively.
• Ensure construction and fit-out work is completed according to approved drawings, specifications and quality standards.
• Review and manage project documentation, quotations, schedules, progress reports and related commercial information.
• Work closely with the design team to ensure that design intent is successfully translated into the completed project.
• Manage snagging, practical completion and final project handover.
• Ensure projects comply with relevant construction requirements, health and safety standards and regulations.
