Placements24 is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor for a Soweto-based manufacturing facility. The role involves leading a production team, ensuring schedules, safety, quality, and BMP adherence to drive productivity on the shop floor.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in production or manufacturing with at least 2 years in supervision, strong leadership, problem-solving, and the ability to work across maintenance and engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in production/manufacturing.
• 2+ years supervisory experience.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise the daily activities of the production team, ensuring compliance with production schedules, quality standards, and safety regulations.
• Monitor production output, identify and resolve operational issues, and implement corrective actions to maintain efficiency.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate production staff, fostering a productive and safe work environment.
• Ensure adherence to all company policies, procedures, and best manufacturing practices (BMP).
• Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to address equipment issues and minimize downtime.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure all team members follow safety protocols.
• Manage work assignments and labor allocation to optimize productivity.
• Maintain production records, including output, waste, downtime, and quality metrics.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts, suggesting and implementing process enhancements.
